- By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please stop using RunBuddy.
1. Purpose of the App
RunBuddy is a free application developed to assist train drivers and rail industry staff with managing shifts, tracking runs, and recording travel details. It provides tools to log, review, and organize work-related information.
2. License Grant and Restrictions
- You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use RunBuddy on your device for personal and professional use.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or distribute RunBuddy or any part of it without prior written consent from the developer.
- You agree to use the app only in compliance with applicable laws and workplace regulations.
3. Storage and Security
- All app data remains stored locally on the user’s device unless:
- the user explicitly chooses to submit diagnostics, backups, screenshots, photos, or contact details, or
- the user enables iCloud backup or storage, in which case data is securely stored in their iCloud account under Apple’s policies.
- Any submitted information (e.g., problem reports or suggestions) is treated as confidential and is not shared with third parties.
4. User Consent
- By downloading and using RunBuddy, you consent to the integration of Google Analytics for Firebase, which collects limited analytics and diagnostic data to improve app performance and reliability.
- Submitting a problem report or improvement suggestion is entirely optional and may include diagnostics, backups, screenshots, photos, and contact details if provided by the user.
- Users can withdraw consent by discontinuing use of the app or refraining from submitting optional information.
5. Third-Party Services
RunBuddy integrates with the following services:
- Google Analytics for Firebase: Collects crash data, performance data, product interaction, other usage data, and other diagnostic data. This information may be linked to the user’s identity and is used only for app functionality and analytics. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Apple iCloud (optional): If enabled by the user, app data may be backed up or stored in iCloud and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
No other third-party integrations are used.
6. Limitation of Liability
RunBuddy is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. The developer is not liable for any damages, data loss, or consequences resulting from the use or inability to use the app. Users are responsible for maintaining backups of their data if required.
7. Termination
This license is effective until terminated by you or the developer. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the app and delete it from your device.
8. Governing Law
These Terms of Service and EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for the resolution of any disputes arising under these terms.
9. Workplace Use Disclaimer
RunBuddy is an independent tool created for personal productivity and convenience. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official system of any rail operator, employer, or transport authority. The app should not be relied upon as an official record for rostering, payroll, or compliance purposes. Users remain responsible for following their employer’s official systems, procedures, and policies.
